Corsicana — Kerens 8, Cayuga 2
Brett Anderson went the distance and struck out 15 while giving up four hits, and he also went 2 for 4 and scored twice as Kerens beat Cayuga 8-2.
Aaron Foxworth went 2 for 4 and drove in a run while scoring twice. Jeremy Gould went 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Riesel 10, Mildred 1
Riesel plated eight runs in the first two innings and never looked back. The Indians had 10 runs on nine hits, five walks and two hit batsmen through three.
Will Burnham took the loss for Mildred, allowing eight runs in an inning and a third. Collin Linex allowed two runs in 1 2/3 innings. Jase Butler pitched four perfect innings, striking out six down the stretch for the Eagles.
John Aldama, Colby Pair, Connor Hill and Burnham had hits for Mildred. Linex was hit by a pitch, and scored on a groundout by Hunter Freeman.
Riesel moved to 3-1 in District 23-2A. Mildred fell to 3-2.
Frost 17, Avalon 6
Jacob Blake (1-0) got the win on the mound and also had a double. Robert Worley went 3 for 4 and Ryan Worley had a double to lead the Polar Bears.
Lindale 7, Corsicana 6
Lindale scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Tigers, who are now 3-1 in district play. Chelsea Vandiver went the distance on the mound and had two triples and drove in two runs, Katy Andrews went 2 for 4 with a triple and double, and Sidney Kirk went 2 for 5 for CHS.
Frost 20, Avalon 0 (3 innings)
Jae Moore (7-0) got the win on the mound and went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI’s and Hillaree Schwartz (2 for 2, triple, two runs), Karlie Scott (2 for 2, double, 3 runs, 2 RBIs), Madison Revill (2 for 3, double), Kennah Kennedy (1 for 3, 3 runs), Sarah Woods (1 for 2, 2 RBIs), and Kaycee (1 for 3, 2 RBIs) led Frost.
