GC Football: Axtell downs Wortham, 46-12

Axtell — The Axtell Longhorns' Michael Milburn rushed for 194-yards and two scores to lead Axtel to a 46-12 homecoming win Friday night in front of a packed house.

Wortham looked to go toe-to-toe with Axtell after Witty Busby hooked up with Jonathan Hughes for a 61-yard scoring strike at the 5:22 mark of the first quarter, and after

a 9-yard score by Axtells' Milburn. Wortham could not convert a run for two and left the score 8-6 Axtell.

Wortham would get no closer after Axtell went on to score on their next three possessions enroute to a 26 point halftime lead that they would not relinquish.

Wortham was led by Witty Busby who led all Bulldog players rushing for 128-yards and accounting for 2 scores on the night. With the loss, Wortham is now 3-3 on the season.
