Rice sweeps

Rice stayed in the playoff hunt with a big win at home Tuesday, sweeping Buffalo, 25-9, 25-15, 25-19, in a District 23-2A match. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Kamran McGee (20 of 22 serving, 6 aces, 7 kills, 5 blocks, 3 digs), Briana Weaver (15 of 16 serving, 1 ace, 9 assists, 4 kills), Sadie Gent (7 of 7 serving, 1 ace, 8 kills, 8 digs, 2 blocks, 2 saves), Samantha Harris (6 kills, 6 blocks 5 digs, 2 saves), Ashton Metcalfe (7 of 9 serving, 1 ace, 5 digs) and Emily Fletcher (6 of 7 serving, 8 assists, 1 kill).

 

Frost stays hot

The Frost Lady Polar Bears improved to 8-2 in District 13-1A with a sweep (25-18, 25-6, 25-9) over Covington Tuesday.

Heather Montgomery (19 for 19 serving, 4 kills, 7 aces) Jae Moore (15 kills, 1 block, 3 digs, 3 aces), Hillaree Schwartz (2 kills, 16 assists, 4 aces), Kaycee Bowling (6 kills, 8 assists, 2 digs, 2 aces), Morgan Elmore (4 kills, 4 aces) and Madison Revil (2 kills, 4 aces) led the way for Frost, which is now 21-7.

 

Mildred stays unbeaten in 23-2A

Mildred swept Blooming Grove, 25-21, 26-24, 25-20 on Tuesday to improve to 8-0 in District 23-2A. Callie Bland (14 assits, 7 digs, 1 kill, 1 ace), Savannah Pritchett (5 kills, 3 aces, 4 digs, 2 blocks), Joanna Tapley (8 kills, 1 ace, 15 digs), Morgan McCreary (7 digs) and Sagen Williams (8 digs, 8 assists) led the way for Mildred.

Mildred (17-16) had a big win Saturday, beating Rice in five sets. Pritchett and Tapley combined for 39 kills in that match. Pritchett (23 kills, 7 digs, 2 blocks, 5 aces, 1 save) and Tapley (16 kills, 20 digs, 1 ace) led the way .
