Challenger League sign-ups extended, practice Saturday

The Central Texas Challenger League has extended sign-ups through this week. Player and volunteers forms can be picked up this week, and registration will be taken through Saturday’s practice.

It is the fourth season for the Challenger League, and this year there will be no cost to participate.

Practice will be held at the softball field at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 8, at the Kerens High School Softball Field off of State Highway 309 south of State Highway 31.

The two-game season will take place over two Saturdays, June 15 and 22, at 9 a.m. each morning at the field.

The baseball league is for boys and girls 8 to 18 (or still in school) from Navarro, Henderson and Freestone counties with mental or physical handicaps. Application forms can be picked up at area schools through special education teachers, or at Innovative Therapies, Custom T’s or the Corsicana Daily Sun.
