GC Volleyball Roundup: Frost, Kerens win

Corsicana — It didn’t take long for Frost to avenge a tough loss to Blooming Grove in the finals of the Blooming Grove Tournament.

The Lady Lions won the tournament title Saturday, and Frost paid them back Tuesday with a sweep on its home court, 25-21, 25-6, and 25-10.

Frost, which improved to 12-4, was led by Madison Revill, who ripped off 19 consecutive service points in the second set. Revill (3 kills, 4 digs) had eight aces for the match and went 26 of 27 from the service line for the match. Heather Montgomery (6 kills), Hillaree Schwartz (4 kills,14 assists, 5 digs, 2 aces), Jae Moore (11kills, 6 digs, 3 aces), Kaycee Bowling (7 kills, 11 assists, 2 digs, 3 aces), Madison Revill ( 3 kills, 4, digs, 8 aces).

Kerens stayed hot Tuesday by beating Rice in four sets, 25-22, 25-16, 17-25, 25-21.

The Lady Bobcats were  led by Taylor Ames (2 kills, 7 blocks, 35 assists, and 5 digs) and Tinesha Tolliver (5 aces, 4 kills, 6 blocks, 6 digs), Tolliver was 29 of 31 serving.

Kerens also had big games from Breanna Wells (7 kills, 11 blocks, 5 digs), Cambree Betts (4 kills, 1 block, 3 digs), Emmanuella Armant (9 kills, 2 blocks, 7 digs), Marquesha Kelly (14 kills, 11 blocks, 5 digs), Kayla Kilcrease (15 digs).
