Mildred kicker Devin O'Sullivan kicked three extra points, Hubbard's Jordan Johnson made a half-dozen tackles and Corsicana's Tiano McDonald played on both sides of the ball Saturday night in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Bowl at Waco ISD Stadium, where the Blue team defeated the Red team 21-16 in a game that saw seven Golden Circle players take the field.

GC Baseball: CHS' Layton Wolver named Golden Circle MVP
Layton Wolver took off and never slowed down, running, bunting, stealing and making plays at short that left everyone who watched the diminutive dynamo wondering what was next for the kid whose motor never stopped running.
When it was over, Wolver found himself atop the Golden Circle and the winner of the 2014 GC Most Valuable Player award

GC Baseball/Football: Kerens' Anderson is a two-sport All-Star

They belong to the same guy.
That's Kerens' Brett Anderson, who is so talented that he found himself in a unique dilemma this week.
Anderson was chosen to play in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association's All-Star Game at Round Rock's Dell Diamond, and he was also chosen as a wide receiver to play in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Bowl in Waco.
One problem. Both games are Saturday.
Corsicana's Kalyana Dickson wins national title in trampoline event
It was just about 10 months ago when Kalyana Dickson told her mother that she wanted to do a handstand.
On Thursday afternoon, Kalyana, who is 7 years old, competed in the USA Nationals and won the national title in the 8-and-under Double Mini event.
That's quite a leap — even for a kid who soars sky-high above a trampoline.

GC Baseball: Dawson dominates 11-1A All-District team
The Dawson Bulldogs topped off their incredible season and playoff run to the state tournament by dominating the Class 11-1A All-District baseball team.
Dawson ace, Trent Underwood, who allowed just one earned run in four playoff starts, was voted the district's MVP, and pitcher Brandon Cehand was named the Pitcher of the Year in 11-1A.
GC Sports: Blooming Grove's Cayman Hawk signs a rodeo scholarship with Panola
Blooming Grove’s Cayman Hawk recently signed a letter of intent to accept a scholarship to Panola College in Carthage.
Hawk, who is an outstanding barrel racer, will join and compete for the Panola Fillies Rodeo team.
GC Football: Kinnison named AD, Williams takes over as football coach at Blooming Grove
Blooming Grove has moved quickly to replace Gary Grubbs, the former football coach and athletic director who left at the end of school year to take a job at Buffalo.
Boys basketball Coach Ben Kinnison has been promoted and is now the school's athletic director, and defensive coordinator Lawrence Williams has been promoted and is the new head football coach
