The football team at Northwestern University is now unionized. The move toward collective bargaining was approved by the Chicago Labor Relations Board.
There are two significant facts about that approval. Number one was that it was the “Chicago” Labor Relations Board. Chicago is run by unions. And, number two is that it was the Labor Relations Board.
The Labor Relations Board is dependent on the existence of unions for their existence. So, when asked if someone can unionize, the answer is DUH!
GC Soccer: Corsicana meets Waxahachie in girls soccer sectionals
Every time the kids on the Corsicana girls soccer team run the bleachers they have a name for it.
.“Hachie! We named our bleachers Hachie. When we run the bleachers we run a Hachie,'' said Makenzie Taylor, a senior midfielder. “The coach says, 'Go run a Hachie.' It makes us push harder because we want to beat them.''
So guess who the Tigers play in the Class 4A sectional round of the playoffs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night?
Yup, it's Hachie.

GC Baseball: Corsicana's Tigers grow up fast
Corsicana baseball Coach Heath Autry never gets tired of hearing it — and he's heard it a lot this season.
“I think the thing that's special about this team is when I hear some of my friends who are coaches describe this team and they say, 'scrappy, tenacious, relentless,'” said Autry, who is coaching the youngest team in his career — a bunch of kids who have learned how to win.
GC Roundup: Mildred comes back to beat Malakoff 15-11, Frost edges Itasca 3-2 (Adds Dawson baseball)
Don’t get Mildred down. Don’t even try it. There’s something about these Mildred softball players, these kids who believe in winning and believe in each other. You could see it Tuesday night — all night long. That’s what Mildred did. The Lady Eagles came back and back and back, all night long to win a slugfest over Malakoff, 15-11.
CHS Tennis: Tigers finish third in Longview
Corsicana High’s tennis team finished third in the 16-team Longview Tournament as the Tigers prepared for the District 16-4A Tournament, which is Friday and Saturday in Jacksonville.
