  • RON MORGAN.jpg Morgan: There's no luck like bad luck ...

This week contained a Friday the 13th. I will assume some of you spent the day avoiding black cats, walking around ladders and tossing salt over your shoulder.
I’d say this year, at least in this part of the world, it would all be a waste of time.

  • BrettAnderson.jpg GC Baseball/Football: Kerens' Anderson is a two-sport All-Star

Looking for the best arm and best hands in the Golden Circle?
They belong to the same guy.

Anderson was chosen to play in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association's All-Star Game at Round Rock's Dell Diamond, and he was also chosen as a wide receiver to play in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Bowl in Waco.
One problem. Both games are Saturday.

It was just about 10 months ago when Kalyana Dickson told her mother that she wanted to do a handstand.
On Thursday afternoon, Kalyana, who is 7 years old, competed in the USA Nationals and won the national title in the 8-and-under Double Mini event.
That's quite a leap — even for a kid who soars sky-high above a trampoline.
