(10-18-09) New Yorker author responds to Kuykendall affidavit

David Grann, author of a lengthy article in The New Yorker magazine questioning the arson investigation in the Cameron Todd Willingham case has responded to recent reports about an affidavit filed by Willingham's brother-in-law, claiming that Willingham confessed to setting the fire that killed his three daughters.

Grann said Stacy Kuykendall denied telling family members in 2004 that Willingham had confessed to setting the 1991 fire after being questioned by two Chicago Tribune reporters in December 2004 about her brother Ronnie's affidavit claiming she told the family he did confess.
