McNally-Ashmore Wedding

Erin Kathleen McNally and Grant Michael Ashmore were united in marriage on Aug. 3, 2007, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Chapel in Allenspark, Colo. The Rev. Robert Williams officiated the double ring nuptial Mass with the bride’s cousins, Timothy and Matthew McNally, assisting as altar servers.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph McNally Jr. of Corsicana. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph McNally Sr. of Corsicana and the late Lt. Col. and Mrs. Herbert Dolph of San Antonio.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ashmore of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willard Ashmore and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fletcher of Sioux City, Iowa.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and wore a sleeveless ivory lace dress designed by Pronovias of Barcelona, Spain. The dress featured a mermaid silhouette with reembroidered lace overlay covering the square neckline, fitted bodice, flared skirt and chapel-length train. Hand-sewn pearls, crystals and beads embellished the Spanish lace. Complimenting the dress was an ivory Alencon lace crystal and pearl adorned Priscilla of Boston chapel-length mantilla veil. The bride carried a bouquet of cascading multi-colored mountain flowers.

Matron of honor was the bride’s sister Michelle McNally Bertelsen of Austin. Bridesmaids were Tobi Andrews Cepak of Dallas, Katherine Scirto Mooney of Tyler, and Jennifer Barto Prado of Austin. Flower girl was the groom’s niece Katelynn Ashmore of Prairieview, La.

The attendants wore patina green spaghetti strap chiffon dresses with embroidered fitted bodices and asymmetrical front drape A-line skirts. The flower girl wore an ivory organza sleeveless dress with embroidered bodice, patina green sash, and multi-layered full gathered skirt. Bridesmaids carried multi-colored summer flower bouquets and the flower girl carried multi-colored rose petals in a silver basket.

Richard Dunn of Fort Worth served as best man. Groomsmen included Scott Ashmore of Prairieview, La.; Aaron Dickey of College Station; and Jonathan Reding of Edmond, Okla. Ring bearer was the groom’s nephew Connor Ashmore of Prairieview, La.

The historic stone chapel was decorated with wildflower cascades, ivy garlands and ivory pillar candles. Music for the wedding included traditional Irish ballads and classical selections played on harp and guitar. Mark Scirto, uncle of the bride, and Toby Andrews performed solos.

Following the wedding, guests enjoyed the reception, dinner and dance at Mary’s Lake Lodge of Estes Park, Colo. During the five-course seated dinner, Irish music was provided by the Celtic group Canned Haggis. Dance music was provided by DJ Jayne McNally. The tables were decorated with tall cascading wildflower arrangements, native river rocks and ivory votive candles. The central dance floor featured ivy garlands along the overhead beams with four hanging lighted wreaths of ivy and wildflowers at each corner.

The four-layered stacked hexagon wedding cake was covered with ivory butter cream icing and decorated with trailing ivy entwined with roses, hydrangeas, orchids and daisies. The cake was made of alternating layers of fancy white with lemon filling, devil’s food with chocolate mousse and pumpkin with caramel cream filling.

Following the wedding the couple spent their honeymoon in Summit County, Colo., and then returned to reside in Bryan.
