Miller-Atkinson Wedding
Sarah Jane Miller of Uvalde, formerly of Corsicana, and Lonnie Lance Atkinson of Uvalde were joined in matrimony at 2 p.m. June 27, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Church in Corsicana. The Rev. Danilo Ramos officiated the double ring ceremony.
Sarah is the daughter of Ed and Therese Miller of Corsicana. She graduated from Corsicana High School, Southwest Texas Junior College, and Sul Ross State University, where she earned a B.A. in elementary education. Sarah plans to teach in the fall.
Lance is the son of Tommy and Rhonda Atkinson of Uvalde. He graduated from Uvalde High School, and is employed by Sentry Security.
Matron of honor was Catherine Nick, and bridesmaids were Laura Brooks, Mary Miller and Afton Jones. Lacey Brooks was flower girl.
The bride wore an A-line gown of ivory and champagne, covered all over with lace and simple beading. The veil was one layer with simple beadwork, and the bride wore pearl earrings and necklace. Her bouquet was fashioned of roses.
Best man was Tommy Atkinson, and groomsmen were Levi Atkinson, Caleb Rogers and Johnny Caballero, with Austin Atkinson serving as ring bearer. Ushers were Everette Ogburn and Stephen Quionones.
Stephen Bonin sang “Ave Maria,” and flowers were by Victorian Sample. A reception was held following the ceremony at The Cook Center. Guests were present from Corsicana, Chicago and Uvalde. The couple makes their home in Uvalde.
