Cunningham/Sanders Wedding

Cunningham/Sanders Wedding

Kristen Marie Cunningham of Denton and Stephen Lee Sanders of Killeen were joined in holy matrimony August 22, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Church in Corsicana, Texas. The Rev. Danilo Ramos officiated the double ring ceremony.

Kristen is the daughter of Bill and Tammi Cunningham of Corsicana and David and Amy Rose of Midlothian. She is the granddaughter of Patty and Jack Conger and the late Bill Cunningham Sr. of Corsicana, and Dolores Schriefer and the late Alfred Schriefer of Corsicana. She graduated Plano Senior High School and will graduate in December from University of North Texas. She will earn a bachelor of science degree in rehabilitative studies.

Stephen is the son of Michael and Carolyn Sanders of Palo, Iowa. He is the grandson of Genevieve Mohn Conner and the late Thomas Mohn and the late Willard and Viola Sanders. He graduated from Cedar Rapids High School and joined the United States Army after graduation. He is stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.

Kristen was escorted down the aisle by her father, Bill Cunningham. She wore a white Mori Lee halter neckline gown with dropped waist onto a ruched skirt with crystal beads. Her veil was her paternal grandmother’s lace mantilla with roses that draped to the floor. She wears her great-great grandmother’s solitaire diamond ring. She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies with purple dendobian orchids.

Maid of honor was Amanda Cunningham, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Allison Cunningham, sister of the bride, along with Lyric Phillips, Meagan Gaulding and Ashley Fain, all friends of the bride. Bridesmaids wore full-length gowns of aubergine by Da Vinci. Flower girls were Cheyenne Rose, sister of the bride, and Addyson Sanders, niece of the groom. The attendants carried arm bouquets of callas lilies, purple dendobian orchids and stargazer lilies.

Best man was longtime friend, Winston Price of Urbana, Iowa. Groomsmen were brothers of the groom, Casey Sanders and Ryan Sanders; friend of the groom, Leon Snipes; and brother of the bride, William Cunningham. Ring bearer was nephew of the groom, Cael Sanders. Serving as ushers were brothers of the bride, Stewart and Jarrett Cunningham and Travis Rose.

Eddie Ruesewald of Corinth, Texas was the organist and soloist. Tom Adams of Victorian Sample arranged the flowers, which were breathtaking bouquets of calla lilies, trailing orchids and a mixture of purple and whites.

A reception featuring dinner and dancing followed at Corsicana Country Club with guests present from Texas, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia and California. Incorporated in the reception were several items of Kristen’s grandparents, a silver punch bowl and serving trays from her paternal grandparents, and mint julep cups served as table decorations from her maternal grandparents.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Kinsloe House on the eve of the wedding.

The couple will make their home in Denton.
