Christina Lynn Brown and Thomas Andrew Cozart were united in holy matrimony on June 18, 2011. The double-ring ceremony was held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Ashland, Va. with the Rev. Christian Haydinger officiating the ceremony.

At the stroke of 2 o’clock in the afternoon, the bride walked down the center aisle sprinkled with rose petals to the traditional “Canon in D Major.” The sanctuary was beautifully decorated with candles and vibrant floral décor in colors of white, pink and green. The seven white hydrangeas on the altar where in loving memory of their grandparents who were no longer with them.
Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant organza satin strapless A-line gown with crystal beading, sequins and rhinestones with Madeira lace and metallic embroidery on the bodice by designer Alfred Angelo. The dress had a stunning Chapel length train which was also embroidered to match the bodice. She completed her bridal ensemble with a beautiful fingertip veil with beaded scalloped edges which gave the perfect finishing touch. Christina carried a gorgeous cascading bouquet of white and pink peonies and green bells of Ireland.
Serving as maid of honor was Kimberly Brown of Krum, Texas, the sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were April Yates of Fayette, Mo.; Tracy Frier of Denton, Texas; Tamara Bardwell of Ashland, Va.; and Erin Netherwood of Lake Caroline, Va. The bridesmaids wore elegant clover strapless satin ball gowns and carried bouquets of white and pink peonies echoing the bride’s bouquet. Ruby Liesfeld of Richmond, Va. and Bella Liesfeld of Montpelier, Va., first cousins once removed of the groom, served as flower girls.
Serving as best man was Arthur Cozart, father of the groom, of Ashland, Va. The groomsmen were William McCahill of Ashland, Va.; Jonathan Cozart of Ashland, Va., brother of the groom; Stuart Groseclose of Ashland, Va. and Matt Netherwood of Lake Caroline, Va. The ring bearers were Noah and Reagan Brown, nephews of the bride, of Denton, Texas.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Montpelier Center for Arts and Education in Montpelier, Va. The tables were elegantly decorated with white linens, clover sashes, candles and firefly center pieces, and bouquets matching the bride’s bouquet. Guests were greeted with hors d’oeuvres, followed by carved roast beef, baked chicken and pork loin.
The wedding cake was three circular tiers of lemon, vanilla with strawberry filling and mint chocolate cake with butter cream frosting, accented with clover colored icing wrapped like a ribbon with gold fireflies and fireworks scattered randomly on separate layers. The groom’s cake was a luscious chocolate cake and chocolate frosting, accented with blades of green grass with a mason jar on top.
