Corsicana —

Jennifer Elizabeth Yorek and Christopher Lee Farmer were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Oct. 23, 2010, at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center in The Woodlands, Texas. A reception followed in the Resort’s Emerald Ballroom. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James and Sharon Yorek of Houston, and the granddaughter of Mrs. Clara Narramore of Rosenberg, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Skinner of Midland, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Linebarger of Midland. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brad and Diana Farmer, and Ms. Jane Farmer of Corsicana. He is the grandson of Mr. Don and the late Mrs. Mary Owen Farmer of Corsicana, and Ms. Pat and the late Mr. Gene Robinson of Corsicana.

The couple exchanged vows under an arbor gazebo adorned with ivory satin and sprinkled with red rose petals. The  Rev. Nancy Fisher officiated the double ring ceremony. Music for the ceremony was provided by Houston String Music. The bride entered on the arm of her father to the accompaniment of Clarke’s “Trumpet Voluntary.” She carried a bouquet of champagne roses, red ranunculus, brown cymbidium orchids, red james story orchids, and brown hypercium berries. For her wedding the bride chose a lovely fit and flare gown by Casablanca, which featured a softly scooped and ruched ivory crystal taffeta empire bodice. The skirt was embellished with beaded ivory lace over champagne satin and finished with a scalloped hem. To complete her ensemble the bride wore a beaded, ivory fingertip tulle veil.

For their attendants, the bride and groom each chose a couple, whose marriage they admired. Standing beside Jennifer were her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Kelly Yorek of Frisco. Standing beside Chris were his longtime friends, Cory and Amy Neal of McKinney. The attendants wore black silk chiffon dresses designed by J. Crew and carried hand tied bouquets with flowers echoing the bride’s bouquet. Serving as ushers were Peyton Dunn of Dallas, Jason Purifoy of Houston, Blair Carroll of Austin, and Jody Judson of Corsicana.

Following the ceremony the reception was held in the Emerald Ballroom at the Woodland’s Resort and Conference Center. Following the cocktail hour, guests were ushered inside the ballroom where the tables were draped with black silk table clothes and covered with champagne embroidered overlays. Each table alternately displayed floral centerpieces of roses and orchids or hurricane candleholders of red etched glass. Guests were served a three course seated dinner featuring seafood bisque, Tuscan salad, and a dual entree of stuffed chicken breast and peppercorn crusted filet mignon.

The bride’s five-tiered wedding cake was decorated with French butter cream icing that featured a lace pattern that exactly matched the bride’s dress and a cake topper that mirrored the bride’s bouquet. In lieu of a groom’s cake, guests were treated to double-chunk chocolate chip and cashew cookies.

The newlyweds will enjoy a honeymoon to Spain and Portugal. Jennifer attended Lewisville High School and Texas Tech University. She is an active member of the Junior League of Houston. Chris attended Corsicana High School and Sam Houston State University. He is employed at Cheniere Energy as the Budget Manager. The couple will make their home in Houston.

On the eve of the wedding, a welcome dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brad Farmer. The Nautilus Deck at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center served as the setting for an extensive buffet featuring a variety of Mexican cuisine and a margarita bar. Live guitar music was provided by Stacy Arnold, professor of classical guitar at Navarro College.
