Campbell-Puren Wedding

Eva Blair Campbell of Flint, Texas and Jeremiah Cornelis Puren V of Whitehouse, Texas were united in marriage on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mike Alexander officiated the double-ring ceremony.

Blair is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Campbell, granddaughter of Evelena Andrus and the late H.V. “Bud” Andrus, and the late Mr. and Mrs. H. Milton Campbell.

Jeremiah is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Cornelis Puren IV of Whitehouse. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Cornelis Puren III of Tyler and the late Mr. and Mrs. Tony Gilson of Pretoria, South Africa.

Blair was given in marriage by her parents and walked down the aisle by her father. The bride was attended by her maid of honor, her sister Sarah Campbell of Abilene and bridesmaids Sharon Puren of Whitehouse, sister of the groom, Julie Weinstock of The Woodlands, Kirsten Swanson of Tyler, and Jessica Montemayor of Carrollton. Sarah wore a strapless, floor-length gown of diaphanous jewel green, followed by Blair’s maids in floor-length gowns of their choice, all in emerald coast. The Court carried bouquets of orchids, dahlias, scabiosa pods, succulents and anemones.

Jeremiah’s best man was Gage McCoy of Midland, along with groomsmen Tom Dobson of Dallas, Matt Ramirez of Tyler, Matt Connelly of Tyler, and Jordan Vulgamott, also of Tyler. The groomsmen’s boutonnieres were varieties of handsomely adorned succulent plants.

Ushers were Michael Andrus of Scurry and Stephen Campbell of Llano, cousins of the bride.

The couple’s flower girl was Lillian Lusby of Amarillo and the ring bearer was Emory Campbell of Llano, both cousins of the bride.

Blair wore a stunning ivory gown of Parisian silk designed by M. Liana. Her exquisite, feminine sweetheart bodice was adorned with hand-placed and embroidered Swarovski crystals, diamantes, and fresh-water pearls. At her waist sat an ivory Valencia satin ribbon that met her dramatic, textured, full skirt, draping to a chapel-length train. The veil was a custom classic, double-tier blusher, designed to complement the bride’s gown. Blair carried an exotic, gorgeous bouquet of protea, peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, hypericum, nerine lilies and succulents.

The beautiful altar of the church was crowned with two large white arrangements of hydrangeas and gladiolas, with southern smilax cascading down the churches’ brass candelabras. The aisles were adorned with southern smilax as well.

Organist for the ceremony was Scott Clinton. Pre-nuptial music included a few of the bride and groom’s treasured hymns and an anthology of the couple’s classical favorites.

The wedding reception was held at the Cook Center Planetarium. The guest reception table held a silver candelabra clad with beautiful fresh protea, roses, hydrangea, lilies, ranunculus, and a collection of the bride’s and groom’s family wedding pictures. Each guest table was decorated with variations of succulents, bouquets of peonies, orchids, dahlias, moss and thistle, cloches, mercury votives and lanterns. The head tables were adorned with the bride’s family antique silver pieces and crystal vases filled with bouquets of the couple’s flowers, floating candles and succulents.

The bride’s cake was a four-tier ivory delight with fresh hydrangeas and roses between each tier. The couple’s monogram adorned the creation and the top tier held gold “LOVE” letters.

The groom’s cake was a sumptuous five-layer naked chocolate brownie cake, with dark chocolate and caramel between the layers.

The guests enjoyed a feast of beef and chicken fajitas from the Old Mexican Inn, the couple’s favorite restaurant in town. Dessert was comprised of wedding cake and a variety of hand-made southern pies.

Wedding guests were present from Louisiana, Kansas, Canada, Tennessee, Missouri, South Africa and Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Puren will honeymoon in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
