Navarro County reported 15 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, Aug. 7. The Corsicana-Navarro County Public Health Department reported that of the county's 856 confirmed cases, 829 have recovered and 155 are currently considered active.

According to the report from the Navarro County Office of Emergency Management, PCR and Antigen tests are totaled daily in the active case count and recovered case count.

Currently, there are 997 total cases, nine patients are hospitalized and there are 141 probable cases. To date, 13 related deaths have been reported.

Included in Friday's report were the following statistics:

• 19 y/old W/F – Dawson

• 9 y/old H/M – Corsicana

• 38 y/old W/F – Corsicana

• 20 y/old W/M – Corsicana

• 14 y/old H/M – Corsicana

• 29 y/old H/F – Barry

• 34 y/old W/M – Corsicana

• 56 y/old B/F – Corsicana

• 58 y/old B/M – Corsicana

• 29 y/old H/M – Corsicana

• 12 y/old B/M – Corsicana

• 67 y/old W/F – Corsicana

• 80 y/old H/M – Corsicana

• 32 y/old B/F – Corsicana

• 73 y/old W/M – Chatfield

The new probable case is as follows:

• 58 y/old W/M – Corsicana

Cases have been confirmed throughout the county, located in and around Corsicana, Angus, Barry, Blooming Grove, Dawson, Emhouse, Frost, Rice, Richland, Kerens, Purdon, Powell, Streetman, Eureka, Mildred and Retreat.

For individuals tested positive for the virus outside of Navarro County, please contact the Corsicana-Navarro County Public Health Department at 903-874-6731 upon notification.

Health officials are continually monitoring conditions locally, regionally, statewide and at the national level.

City and county leaders continue to research additional steps to help stop the spread. Residents are urged to practice social distancing guidelines, especially in large retail stores. Also, if you have an employee who is sick, please ask them to stay home.
