Navarro County reported 21 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, Aug. 5. The Corsicana-Navarro County Public Health Department reported that of the county's 831 confirmed cases, 796 have recovered and 159 are currently considered active.

According to the report from the Navarro County Office of Emergency Management, the Corsicana-Navarro County Health Department is tracking probable cases, which will now be included in active case counts and reflected in the recovered counts.

Currently, there are 967 total cases, 10 patients are hospitalized and there are 136 probable cases. To date, 12 related deaths have been reported.

Included in Wednesday's report were the following statistics:

• 43 y/old H/F – Corsicana

• 36 y/old PI/M – Corsicana

• 52 y/old W/F – Corsicana

• 19 y/old H/F – Richland

• 26 y/old H/F – Corsicana

• 42 y/old H/M – Corsicana

• 43 y/old H/F – Purdon

• 38 y/old H/F – Corsicana

• 42 y/old H/M – Corsicana

• 59 y/old H/F – Corsicana

• 20 y/old H/F – Corsicana

• 7 - month old B/F – Corsicana

• 10 y/old W/F – Corsicana

• 54 y/old H/M – Corsicana

• 50 y/old H/F – Corsicana

• 53 y/old H/M – Corsicana

• 54 y/old B/F – Corsicana

• 32 y/old W/F – Corsicana

• 46 y/old W/F – Frost

• 43 y/old H/F – Corsicana

The new probable cases are as follows:

• 63 y/old W/F – Barry

• 32 y/old H/F – Corsicana

• 77 y/old W/M – Corsicana

• 20 y/old W/M – Corsicana

Cases have been confirmed throughout the county, located in and around Corsicana, Angus, Barry, Blooming Grove, Dawson, Emhouse, Frost, Rice, Richland, Kerens, Purdon, Powell, Streetman, Eureka, Mildred and Retreat.

For individuals tested positive for the virus outside of Navarro County, please contact the Corsicana-Navarro County Public Health Department at 903-874-6731 upon notification.

Health officials are continually monitoring conditions locally, regionally, statewide and at the national level.

City and county leaders continue to research additional steps to help stop the spread. Residents are urged to practice social distancing guidelines, especially in large retail stores. Also, if you have an employee who is sick, please ask them to stay home.

County stakeholders continue to meet daily to discuss current conditions, unmet needs, and operational procedures for every sector.
