Navarro County reported 22 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, Aug. 11. The Corsicana-Navarro County Public Health Department reported that of the county's 905 confirmed cases, 895 have recovered and 145 are currently considered active.

Free, drive through testing will return to Corsicana from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 through Saturday, Aug. 15 at the I.O.O.F. Event Center.

Testing is free to all Navarro County residents. Pre-registration is not required; registration will be conducted onsite at the time of testing.

Testing is recommended for those experiencing fever and/or chills, cough (dry or productive), fatigue, body aches/muscle or joint pain, nasal congestion, sore throat, headaches, nausea/vomiting, shortness of breathe, loss of taste and/or smell.

According to the report from the Navarro County Office of Emergency Management, PCR and Antigen tests are totaled daily in the active case count and recovered case count.

Currently, there are 1,055 total cases, five patients are hospitalized and there are 150 probable cases. To date, 15 related deaths have been reported.

• 17 y/old W/F – Corsicana

• 48 y/old W/M – Corsicana

• 50 y/old W/F – Corsicana

• 50 y/old W/F – Corsicana

• 47 y/old H/M – Corsicana

• 32 y/old PI/M – Corsicana

• 67 y/old W/M – Corsicana

• 65 y/old W/F – Kerens

• 41 y/old H/F – Corsicana

The new probable cases are as follows:

• 73 y/old W/M – Corsicana

• 70 y/old W/M - Powell

Cases have been confirmed throughout the county, located in and around Corsicana, Angus, Barry, Blooming Grove, Chatfield, Dawson, Emhouse, Frost, Rice, Richland, Kerens, Purdon, Powell, Streetman, Eureka, Mildred and Retreat.

For individuals tested positive for the virus outside of Navarro County, please contact the Corsicana-Navarro County Public Health Department at 903-874-6731 upon notification.

Health officials are continually monitoring conditions locally, regionally, statewide and at the national level.

City and county leaders continue to research additional steps to help stop the spread. Residents are urged to practice social distancing guidelines, especially in large retail stores. Also, if you have an employee who is sick, please ask them to stay home.
