You may have noticed some interesting displays popping up in local businesses Monday. Bras for a Cause have been decorated in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and are now on display throughout Corsicana.
For a $1 donation per vote, you can weigh in on your favorite bra designed by local businesses and help fundraise for breast cancer research.
Voting and display locations for the rest of the week will be Timbers on Friday; Vintage Farmhouse Saturday; Miles Furniture Sunday and Monday; and Sweet Tangerine Tuesday.
The Methodist Health System Mobile Mammography Unit will be at Sweet Tangerine from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 to provide mobile screenings.
Event organizers are Amy Tidwell, manager, and Carmen Austin, owner of Sweet Tangerine.
To qualify for a mammogram, you must be age 40 or older and have no current breast problems. Most major insurance plans are accepted, including Medicare Part B and Medicaid. To make an appointment, call Methodist Health Connection at 214-947-0026.
Bras for a Cause participants include Community National Ban, Pink Peony, Lumberyard Food & Finds, Vintage Farmhouse, Victorian Sample, Colonial Construction, Miles Furniture, The Corsicana Daily Sun, and Timbers.
