“People helping people, that's what we do!”

That's the slogan for Centex Citizens Credit Union, but for the employees who make up the offices of the 65-year-old company, it's a philosophy.

It's for that reason a lot of excitement has generated within the Corsicana office, as a number of new promotions introduce the next level of leadership not just for Corsicana, but the upcoming Ennis location as well.

Centex Citizens Credit Union has been part of Corsicana since April 2016, providing its members a full-service financial institution, with strong and focused ties to the community. The credit union was recently presented the “Outstanding Large Business Award” by the Corsicana Daily Sun at the annual Corsicana-Navarro County Chamber of Commerce Gold and Silver Awards Luncheon last February.

Debbie Wilson, who has served as manager for the Corsicana office, will be the new Branch Manager for Ennis. Wilson, having been retired for two years before taking her initial job with Centex Citizens Credit Union, expressed her enthusiasm for her new role.

“It brought me out of retirement, as I believed what Centex could do for Corsicana,” Wilson said. “And now I want to see what I can do for Ennis.”

“There was a need for a credit union like us in Ellis county,” Wilson continued. “We are able to help people where no one else will.”

Despite Wilson's new role, she wants to assure members that they will still see her around the Corsicana office, and she's not abandoning them.

“I want members to understand that I'm still here,” said Wilson. “We'll make this a smooth transition.”

The new Ennis office opens Dec. 1, 2019.

Taking Wilson's previous role for the new generation of leaders in the Corsicana office are Camesha Busby, who has been promoted from Assistant Branch Manager to Branch Manager, and Maria Vargas, who will serve as the new Assistant Branch Manager.

Busby's start with Centex Citizens Credit Union didn't begin as an employee, but as a member. The support and guidance of Centex was met with Busby joining the office, and working with them for 10 years with five positions before her recent promotion.

“We'll be keeping the credit union the same,” said Busby. “We'll bring new innovation and service with a smile, but the integrity is still here.”

“I want to be a force to reckon with, just like Debbie,” said Busby. “When people walk in here, I want them to see a light from us to let them feel comfortable.”

After working for Centex for three years, Vargas shares a similar sentiment. Born and raised in Corsicana, Vargas is a 2012 Corsicana High School alumni, and graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce with a Bachelors in Business Administration.

Vargas knows the local membership, and plans to be the “front line of defense” in providing leadership, building a strong team, and taking care of both employees and members.

“Maria does a great job,” Wilson said in regards to Vargas. “She's going to be a good leader.”

“I'm real proud of Camesha and Maria,” Wilson added.
