Macedonia Baptist Church located on the corner of Ross and Marsh Street in will honor Pastor Machleann Grant on her third Pastoral Anniversary at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6. The theme for the occasion is "It's in my heart" from the scripture text Jeremiah 3:15. The Grace Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church family will be celebrating its Choir and Usher Annual Sunday at 3 p.m. Oct. 13. The choir, under the direction of Bro. B. J. Deeds, Jr. sets the tone for the worship service while the ushers, under the leadership of Brother Marshall Deeds are the doorkeepers to God's house. Rev. Theme: “We've Come This Far by Faith.” The historical church was organized in 1868 and is the oldest registered African American church in the State of Texas. An historical marker was erected Sept. 14, 1980. With everyones support, this will be a memorable day, spirituality and financially. Honored guests will be Bishop k.d. Carry outs are available at 11 a.m. Menu includes brisket, chicken, sausage, potato salad, cole slaw, beans, cake and tea at the Frost school cafeteria. Adults are $10 and children under 10 are $8. Auction begins at 1 p.m.

The Eureka United Methodist Church will host its annual Lord's Acre Saturday, Oct. 5, 8644 S. Hwy. 287 in Eureka. We will be serving dinner consisting of brisket, pinto beans, potato salad, bread, pickles, onions, homemade pie, and tea from 5 to 7 p.m. Adults are $10 and children 3-years-old and under are free. Dine in or carry-out. We will also sell brisket by the pound for $15 per pound. We will have our Country Kitchen/Store open from 10 a.m. until noon and from 4 to 7 p.m. It will have items such as homemade jelly, breads, and candy, cookbooks, handmade walking sticks and canes,handmade crosses, and much more. The live auction will begin at 7:15 p.m.

Blooming Grove United Methodist Church will hold its Lord's Acre from 10:30 to 1 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Blooming Grove Methodist Church. The Country Store and Silent Auction will be open till noon. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with take-outs starting at 10:30 a.m. The meal will consist of brisket, potato salad, beans, slaw, dessert and tea. Adult meals are $10 and $7 for children 10 and under. The live auction will begin in the sanctuary at 1 p.m.

Reaching Out to You Ministry hosts its “Radio Broadcast” from 8 to 9 a.m. every Sunday morning on KAND 1340 a.m. Listen to win CDs, cash give aways, and more during the broadcast. A night of learning is held at 6 p.m., every Tuesday at the Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, 125 S. Fifth St. The church will host its Usher's Annual at 3 p.m. Oct. 13. Guest will be Greater New Mt.
