Police arrested Timothy Brown of Ennis after he was suspected of shooting and killing Donald Claxton, of Ennis around 10:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 behind Spec’s Liquor Store in Garrett.
Witnesses reported Claxton was found shot lying in a driveway of a mobile home in the 4000 block of Spur 469. He was taken to Ennis Regional Hospital by AMR Medics where he was pronounced dead by Justice of Peace Chris Macon with Pct. 1 in Ellis County.
Ellis County Criminal Investigation along with Ellis County Crime Scene Unit processed the crime scene and identified the body.
Brown was arrested Saturday, Jan. 19 in Ennis and was booked into Ellis County Jail.
“I would like to thank the Texas Department of Public Safety, Ennis Police Department, Palmer Police Department Garrett Police Department and AMR Medics,” ECSO said. “No law enforcement officers were injured in the arrest.”
