Some of the best writers wrote short. From Hemingway to O. Henry, these masters proved the craft of extreme brevity is no small feat.
Explore Corsicana would like to invite young writers to enter a Flash Fiction contest with the winners in each age group to be published in the next edition of our magazine.
What is Flash Fiction? It is stories of 1,000 words or less (it could be as few as six words).
Entries will be judged by the Daily Sun newsroom and the top stories in three age groups, elementary, middle and high school will be published in print. The top three selections and an honorable mention will be published on our website as well.
To enter, attach your story in a word document or paste into the body of an email and send to email@example.com. The deadline for submission Monday April 8.
Include your name, age and school for consideration. Explore Corsicana reserves the right to edit any submitted content. All entrants must be 18 or under. Multiple entries may be submitted, however only one will win in each category.
