A Dawson family of eight is asking the community's support after losing everything during straight-line winds which ravaged the area Wednesday night.
According to the Navarro County Office of Emergency Management Facebook page, wind speeds ranged from 60 to 75 miles per hour.
The family is currently staying in the Motel 6 in Corsicana and is awaiting a call from their insurance agent.
According to the mother, Whitney Fuller's Facebook post, the family's home lost its main transformer and its entire roof is gone. There was water damage throughout the house including the light fixtures.
“We are upset, but also very thankful we were able to walk away with only material items damaged,” Fuller said. “Those things can be replaced, but our lives however, can't be. Thank you to everyone who has called, texted, messaged and sent up a few extra prayers for our family. We really appreciate it!”
Her aunt, Kasi McCasin said the family is in need of household items, clothes, furniture or anything else anyone feels the need to donate.
