Melissa B. Owen formerly of San Francisco, California and Reagan B. Jensen of Dallas were united in marriage with a double ring ceremony Sept. 9, 2017 at Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel Valley, California. Rev. Zia Shaprio joined the two in Holy Matrimony.
The ceremony took place in a spectacular intimate redwood grove populated with trees over a century years old.
Melissa is the daughter of David and Paula Owen of Fort Worth, formerly of Corsicana.
Melissa was a 1998 honor graduate from Corsicana High School. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting Degree and her Master of Science in Finance Degree from Texas A&M University. She is a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and participated in the International Abroad work-study program in Singapore. She is currently employed by Sales Force.Com as a regional vice president.
Reagan graduated in 1989 from St. John’s High School in Houston, He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History Degree and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance Degree from the University of Texas, He is a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity and is employed as the Chief Investment Officer of Peregrine Investments.
Heather Tighe of San Francisco, California stood by her as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included: Emily Settle of Fort Worth, Allison Casey of Houston, Kate Stroube Hrobsky of New York, Megan Batsell of Austin and Lindsey Wisenbaker of Dallas.
Michael Green and Michael Wisenbaker of Dallas served as Bestman and Groomsmen included: Spencer Cochran of Dallas, Allen Rustay of Houston, Grant Gottesman of Austin, Duke Cowden of Austin, Todd McCulloch of Dallas, Cody Wikert of Houston, Cliff Condrey of Fort Worth and Blake Gottesman of Toronto, Canada.
Melissa wore a silk crepe gown by Romona Keveza. The gown featured pearl embroidered appliqué lace on the illusion neckline and along the waistline. A transparent tulle overskirt accented the dress.
Synchronicity Strings performed traditional weddings music. Kathryn Myers Lake read scripture. At the end of the ceremony the groom surprised Mellisa, and everyone else, by recreating the wedding scene from one of her favorite movies, ‘Love Actually.’ The Monerey Gospel Choir accompanied by musicians from Pop Rocks appeared from the forest and performed “All You Need is Love” during the recessional.
Cocktail hour began on the Hacienda lawn overlooking Carmel valley.
The dinner reception was held at on the venue grounds in a rustic barn which was transformed with chandeliers, twinkling white lights, candles, linen fabric and lush floral arrangements of white orchids and white hydrangeas. Guests danced to the music of Pop Rock from San Francisco.
On the morning of their wedding, Melissa and her bridesmaid enjoyed yoga followed with a luncheon at Quail Lodge, while the groom enjoyed a round of golf with friends at the Santa Lucia Preserve Course followed by lunch.
The Couple enjoyed their honeymoon in New Zealand.
