The Corsicana City Council recognized library director Dr. Marianne Wilson during its regular meeting, Monday, June 10.

“Since she has been here she's been a jewel,” said Mayor Pro Tem Ruby Williams. “She is a sweet person, she's outgoing, and she's really trying to keep our library going. We'd like to say thank you and God bless you.”

The Corsicana Public Library was recently awarded a Texas Book Festival Grant, specifically to enhance the library’s collection of audiobooks.

“The Corsicana Public Library community loves audiobooks but the collection needs a bit of updating.” said Wilson.

“Many people already know that the library can borrow audiobooks on your behalf using Inter-Library Loan, or download them through our online service, Overdrive, but we want to have things on-hand for folks who come to the library and want to walk out with an item.”

The grant will foot the bill for 91 new audiobooks, which have been ordered and should arrive this summer.

“We are always trying to find ways to meet the needs of Corsicana Public Library community,” said Wilson.
