Hotter Than Blue Blazes: Summer in the West Exhibit featuring artwork from the Pearce’s permanent collection, this exhibit contrasts the recent show, “The West in Winter,” and communicates the ferocious heat of the Wild West. See the lives of ranchers depicted in art during the hottest part of the year, or catch a moment of respite as a cowboy naps in the shade. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. at the Sirloin Stockade. The first time this exhibit has been displayed, this Pearce Museum-produced program and body of work features information and visual aids about the role of music in the Civil War. It is composed of banners and artifacts illustrating how music influenced both the North and South, and served as recreation and inspiration for soldiers. The Warehouse Living Arts Center will present the comedy of manners, God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza at 7:30 p.m. in the Fator Studio Theatre. An innocent squabble over a playground incident becomes an all-out, fur-flying, hilarious brawl between two couples in God of Carnage. This production is part of the Fator Studio Series and is not included in the 2019 Season Ticket package. Tickets are $10 each. “Faces and Places of the Chihuahuan Desert” This exhibition explores the topography and natural beauty of the Chihuahuan Desert and considers the human impact upon it over a period of thirty years.
