The first time this exhibit has been displayed, this Pearce Museum-produced program and body of work features information and visual aids about the role of music in the Civil War. It is composed of banners and artifacts illustrating how music influenced both the North and South, and served as recreation and inspiration for soldiers. School starts for Dawson and Frost ISD

AARP will host its smart driver course from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Navarro Regional Hospital in the classrooms. Participants cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. AARP Smart Driver Course covers defensive driving techniques and the normal changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time associated with aging. The course also provides practical techniques for adjusting to these changes to ensure the driver’s own safety and that of others on the road. During the course, participants learn about current rules of the road and how to operate their vehicles more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment.
