Multiple organizations recently gave to the United Way of Navarro County.
True Value of Corsicana donated a check to United Way of Navarro County for $39,226.50.
“True Value has been participating in the United Way annual campaign for 37 years and this year's donation has set a new company record,” said Cara Wilson, Executive Director of United Way of Navarro County. “United Way is unique in that we collaborate with 12 non-profit partner agencies to affect positive changes in our community as efficiently as possible.”
The Boys and Girls Club of Navarro County donated $20,000 to the United Way campaign.
“United Way utilizes donations and pledges from the employee giving campaigns to advance the common good in Navarro County,” Wilson said. “With so much need in our community, it is difficult to know how or where to give to have the greatest impact. Give to United Way and give with confidence to all!”
Other local businesses included: The Child Advocated of Navarro County with $40,000, Camp of the Rising Sun with $18,500 and American Red Cross with $20,000.
Christmas in Action donated $14,000, Meals on Wheels donated $50,000, The Hope Center donated $16,460, Compassion Corsicana donated $55,000, Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services donated $40,000 and The Salvation Army donated $5,000.
“When non-profit organizations work together, not only can more good be accomplished, but also the cost of fundraising is dramatically reduced, leaving more money for what is important—helping people,” Wilson said. “United Way’s knowledge of the community ensures contributions are channeled to where the needs are greatest.”
