The Love Chapel Baptist Church located at 400 North Benton Street where David E. Wilson serves as Pastor and Sharron D. Wilson serves as Minister will have a Black History Program at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15.  Special guests include Derica Pipkins, Johnson Memorial Church Of God In Christ, Pastor Joseph Johnson, Sr.; Bro. Curtis Sparks, Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, bishop k.d. Davis, pastor; Bethlehem Baptist Church, Pastor Dairy Johnson; Olive Grove Baptist Church, Pastor Curtis Johnson, Sr.; The Women of Praise Dance Ministry of New Cornerstone Baptist Church, Pastor Donne' R. First Baptist Church Corsicana will host The PraiSingers from Travis Avenue Baptist Church, Fort Worth, a senior adult choir in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at 510 W. Collin St. The concert is free and open to the public. The 150 voice choir sings a variety of traditional and gospel music, and ends with a musical salute to our Armed Forces.  The choir makes about 15 appearances a year for association and state events, retirement communities and churches.

First Baptist Church of Mertens will have a service to celebrate the final Sunday in its present sanctuary at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23. The building was constructed in 1924 and will be removed to allow for the building of a new sanctuary. Refreshments will follow the service. All are welcome to attend.

XYZ (Extra Years of Zest) of Westminster Presbyterian Church invites members and friends in the community to enjoy an excellent lunch and program on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 11:45 a.m.  Sandra Huffman, one of Corsicana's finest musicians, will entertain with a medley of well-loved songs.  Join us to listen, sing or just hum along.  Bring a side dish or dessert.  Call 903-874-3781 for more information.

The Cowboy Church of Corsicana located at 5864 W. Hwy. 31 (two miles west of Walmart) invites you to come come and worship with us every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. We are an outreach Ministry for those interested in preserving our Western Heritage. It is our purpose to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with our community.  This past Sunday, we had a record attendance of 310 people. This is why we are busily doubling the physical size of our building at this time. We also invite you to attend our Bible Study, which is held each Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the church. The CCC band, with special guest singers, can always be counted on to provide good music for our service. Open Door COGIC, 1201 E. The Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 409 N. Third St., Corsicana, Dairy G. Missionary Baptist Church, 405 S. 15th Street, Corsicana. Blessings continue to overflow MBC's “cup” with answered prayers, spiritual growth, great fellowship and good attendance. Plans and preparations are now beginning in earnest for Vacation Bible School and Summer Youth Camp. MBC is very proud of the Youth Directors and all the faithful young people participating in each activity. MBC begins each Sunday morning with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. Classes are available for every age group. Sunday Worship Services begin at 10:50 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday evening Adult Bible Study starts at 7 p.m. The youth have three events scheduled this week at the church. Wednesday (7 p.m.) the youth meet in the Fellowship Hall and gymnasium for study and fun, Friday (6 p.m.) is the Friday Night Fun Night at the gymnasium and Saturday this week at 6 p.m. the youth will be serving chicken spaghetti in the Fellowship Hall. Voluntary donations will be accepted for the Camp Fund that helps the youth attend Summer Camp in Pine Springs in July. Come and be blessed.

New Bethel Baptist Church, 700 Elm Flat Road, Goodlow, invites you to a real black history program at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23. Guest speaker is the wonderful Rowena Winfrey of Corsicana. There will be skits, plays, songs of old and oldie but goodies of yesteryear. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 there will be a free male health screen, conducted by the Methodist Health System of Dallas. Straightway MBC, 400 S. 15th, Pastor A.E. Smith. StraightWay Youth dept. invites the public out to be part of our third Sunday morning worship. Guest speaker for the hour is Rev. Roy Sanders III, associate minister at Love Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Sanders is a native of Corsicana and a 2001 graduate of Corsicana High School. Rev. Sanders served a total of seven y ears in the United States Air Force and is an Iraq Freedom veteran. Sanders is married to Katiah Sanders, and they have four children. Rev. Sanders is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Christian counseling at Liberty University. Rev. Sanders has been preaching the Gospel for over eight years. He has a heart for God and a desire to servant lead God’s people to relationship with Christ. Morning worship at 11 a.m., Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. Minister G. Kitchen is the associate pastor.

Intercessors for Navarro County Men’s Prayer Breakfast will meet at Navarro College at Lone Star Room in the cafeteria at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday mornings. Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County, located at 4495 W. State Hwy. 22, invites all to join us for our Sunday Church Service starting at 10 a.m. We have nursery for babies through age 2 years and activities for 3 and 4 year olds. Children ages 5 through 12 are invited to meet in the children's building for Children's Church.  Northside Baptist Church offers Grief Share, a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close. Grief Share is non-denominational and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. A 13-week course begins Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Northside Baptist Church. The meeting will be in the white house across the street from Northside, 222 Forest Lane  beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. You will have the opportunity to interact with others who have experienced a loss, learn from their experiences and share your own.
