Woman’s Club House Association

The constitution and bylaws committee members of the Woman’s Club House consisting of chairman Judy Willis, Cindy Erwin, Jan Moore, Ro Ross and Dolores Stone will be hostesses for the Sept. 6 luncheon and program at Kinsloe House. They will present what promises to be most interesting and unusual program titled “Art of Quilting” by Jan Libal.

Libal is a resident of Corsicana and currently administrator at Heritage Oaks West; however, her hobby of several years is quilting. In fact, she is a former owner of a quilting shop in Corsicana and active in the Piecemakers Quilt Guild, which is an organization of quilting enthusiasts. She will display some of her quilts, one of which will be in the Warehouse exhibit. She will give a demonstration of construction, identifying quilt patterns and techniques. Quilts have had an interesting role in Texas among Texas women since pioneer days being then a practical necessity to today when they have literally been elevated to an appreciated art form. This will be a program surely to be of interest to all lovers of arts and crafts and to others who just want to be entertained and learn something. Kinsloe members are encouraged to make reservations by noon Sept. 4 by calling (903) 874-5791.
