A Hubbard woman was killed when the motorcycle she was riding struck a van near Frost over the weekend, according to reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Debra Joyce Armstrong of Hubbard died around 5 p.m. Saturday at Parkland Hospital.
The wreck took place around 10 a.m. Saturday on FM 744, seven miles south of Frost. The van was being driven by a 71-year-old man from Purdon, who was in the west-bound lane turning left into a private driveway. The motorcycle was heading east on FM 744 when the van turned in front of them, according to the report written by DPS Trooper Chris Williamson.
The motorcycle was being driven by Brandon Armstrong, 35. Debra Armstrong, 46, was the passenger on the rear of the bike.
Both were flown by helicopter to Parkland Hospital in Dallas but Debra died later that day, according to Sgt. Ken Authier of the Department of Public Safety. Brandon Armstrong received broken bones in the accident.
Responding to the scene were members of the Navarro Mills Volunteer Fire Department and Corsicana Fire Department, as well as officers from the DPS.
Neither of the motorcyle riders were wearing helmets.
