Navarro County Genealogical Society invites the public to a “Native American Research Workshop” from 10 a.m. to noon at the Corsicana Public Library Civic Room. The presentation will be given by Aaron Holt, who has worked for the National Archives for approximately 18 years. The workshop will give research approaches to the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole tribes; and information about Native American citizenship enrollment cards, and the 1909 Guion Miller Eastern Cherokee Rolls. This free workshop is designed to assist beginners as well as advanced researchers.

VOICE will offer the Texas Youth Tobacco Awareness Program, a state-approved program for minors charged with attempted purchase, consumption, or possession of tobacco and is designed to the mandates of Texas law. VOICE staff is certified to facilitate this program. The class will be an eight-hour program divided into four two-hour sessions. This session will be June 23, 25 and 30 and July 2. Two separate sessions will be offered on these dates. One will be offered from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the other from 4 to 6 p.m. Participants are required to attend all sessions. Texas Youth Ranch Association Rodeo will be held beginning at 9 a.m. at the Navarro County Exposition Center, located on State Highway 22, Corsicana. The event will be free to the public. You are invited to come, watch, and have fun.



End of the Road Music Festival will be held from 1 to 11 p.m. at the Fullerton-Garitty Park amphitheater. Bands featured will be The Back Road Society, Stones of Rome, Iron to Ashes, Sanateria, Endless Sky, and many more. This is a chance for young ones and anyone else who would like to participate in giving back to the community. All proceeds/donations will be given to The Salvation Army and the Navarro County Food Pantry. Join in for a variety of music, fun, and a chance to help out the community. Navarro Amateur Radio Club will participate in “Field Day” which is designed to test amateur radio operators’ abilities to set up and operate portable stations under emergency conditions, such as the loss of electricity. This year’s Field Day will be held at the Rice High School stadium, located on Interstate 45 (take Exit 242). Set up will be from 8 a.m. to noon June 27.
