Upon the reorganization of the Frost Volunteer Fire Department in 1984, Lynn Short was voted in as fire chief of the department. He was fire chief until February 2009 when he announced he was stepping down.
On April 26, the Frost VFD volunteers presented Short with an appreciation plaque for 25 years of service to the department. This event took place at the Frost Fire Station with the Frost VFD, city council members, family and friends of Short’s in attendance. Anita Ewing made a cake which represented Short’s life as a farmer and volunteer firefighter.
