Graycie Montfort, a fifth grader from Collins Intermediate School and member of Emhouse 4–H, donated $500 over Spring Break to the University of Texas Callier Center for Communication Disorders to help families with the cost of hearing aids for their children.

Montfort's charity is called “Super Ears for Super Kids,” and she has raised the money by making and selling unique headbands through her 4-H Fashion Project.

She truly understands the benefits of kids receiving the gift of hearing, as she received her first pair of “Super Ears” at the age of two.

She wants all kids who have hearing loss to receive the benefits of hearing aids despite their enormous costs that many families are faced with paying to fit their children with needed aids.

She hopes to continue to raise more money over the next months and years so look for her at local vendor markets and pop up events around town.
