The Navarro County Sheriff's Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Corsicana Fire Rescue, and Navarro County Office of Emergency Management Water Rescue Units responded to a water rescue around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning on FM 3194 in the southern part of the county.
According to reports, a man drove through high water and was swept off the road. He was able to get on top of his vehicle and call for help.
NCOEM's high profile vehicle and boat crew responded to the scene, and water rescue personnel, NCSO deputies, and State Troopers assisted to successfully rescue the driver.
“Great work by all involved,” stated Sheriff Elmer Tanner. “Glad we have the trained personnel and equipment available in our county to respond when these emergencies arise.”
As some Navarro County roads remain underwater, officials remind drivers not to attempt to drive through high water.
