The Board of Directors of the Hull Creative Arts Foundation is proud to announce the addition of Navarro County Pens to Lens as an auxiliary committee operating under the Hull Creative Arts Foundation by laws.
NCP2L’s goal is to educate local youth about the film making process – from script to movie production. Students also have the opportunity to work with movie technology, peers and mentors to demonstrate and increase their resourcefulness and skills.
The Navarro County Pens to Lens program is chaired by Lynda Green and along with partners Tamara Montgomery, Mitchell and Karen VanDiver and many volunteers.
During this its fourth year, the all-grade script writing school contest has grown from 28 entries in 2017 to 194 entries from across Navarro County in 2018. Entries this year also include Storyboards and Posters.
Thanks to partners Warehouse of Living Arts Center, Navarro Council of the Arts, Corsicana Independent School District, Outside the Line Creative Studios, Joe Brooks and the Hull Creative Arts Foundation for the support to make this program come alive for the students of Navarro County and insure the continued success of this wonderful learning opportunity.
A Red Carpet Gala will be held May 28 at the Warehouse of Living Arts Center where the movies for the first-place winning scripts for all grade levels will be shown. The second place winners will read their script and the third place winners will be recognized.
The winning poster will be exhibited at WLAC.
