The third annual Heritage Bowl will be held at noon on Dec. 7, with a new pair of Division II football teams facing off at Tiger Stadium.

This year’s matchup at the 10,0001-seat venue promises just as much excitement as always plus the bowl game’s first-ever pep rally, to be held on Beaton St. at 4:30pm the day before. Residents and recently-arrived fans alike are encouraged to come downtown to hear from both teams ahead of the showdown.

Players will also participate in “High Five Friday” at local schools earlier in the day, welcoming students as they arrive for morning classes.

Game day will feature tailgating opportunities for fans as well as competitions, face painting and themed photo ops. The gates will open at 9:00am.

Major sponsors include the Corsicana Visitors’ Bureau, Community National Bank and Trust and Atmos Energy. The official team hotels are the Hampton Inn and the Best Western Executive Inn.

Previous teams have included the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Kansas’ Emporia State University, the University of Central Oklahoma and Tarleton State University.

Tickets can be purchased online via Eventbrite for $10 or at the stadium on game day. Commemorative programs and drawstring backpacks will also be available for purchase at the stadium.

The game will be followed by Corsicana’s annual Christmas parade, which will begin weaving its way through the downtown streets at 6pm.
