Three direct-connector ramps at the interchange of Interstate 45 at Interstate 20 will undergo major rehabilitation beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3, requiring a complete closure of each ramp for approximately four weeks at a time. Locations and approximate dates for the ramp closures are listed below:
• I-20 Westbound to I-45 Southbound (Sept. 3 – Oct. 5)
• I-45 Southbound to I-20 Eastbound (Oct. 8 – Nov. 7)
• I-45 Northbound to I-20 Westbound (Nov. 12 – Dec. 17)
During each closure, traffic will be detoured through the turnarounds on I-45 and I-20 accordingly. For the first ramp closure beginning Sept. 3, westbound I-20 to southbound I-45 traffic will be detoured to northbound I-45, exit 279B onto Loop 12 West, then exit again to travel back on southbound I-45.
Please see the attached detour map. The detour will be marked to assist with traffic control.
More information regarding the next ramp closures and detour routes will follow at a later date. Backups are expected and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
