Faith Beamon, the young mother who was in a horrible car accident in December while on her way to school in Mount Pleasant, recently came home from TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston.

She was approved June 13 to go to the facility, which has been named the best rehabilitation hospital in Texas and number two in the nation and offers inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for brain and spinal cord injuries.

She came home from her first hospitalization in April with parents Brian and Christie and her baby boy, Aaron, by her side. Aaron was just 7 weeks old at the time of Faith's accident.

“She has been doing really good, TIRR is a remarkable place,” Christie said. “She is adjusting well, but of course she misses Aaron and her dad something awful.”

Christie said they they did a spinal tap Monday, June 24 to drain some spinal fluid off her brain and that it made a huge difference in her mobility temporarily, which qualified her to get a shunt to help drain fluid off the brain and to the stomach.

“Her alertness and responses are so much better,” Christie said. “We return to TIRR Monday, July 1 to complete her stay there.”

Christie said Faith has enjoyed visits from family and friends and encourages anyone who wants to visit to reach out and make sure it's a good time.
