The Mayor’s Economic Partnership Group Tuesday heard a presentation by Wayne Burgdorf, a Senior Advisor and Certified Commercial Investment Member with SVN Trinity Advisors who are developing the area across from Walmart in Corsicana, known as the Corsicana Commons Development.

The Mayor’s Economic Partnership Group heard updates Tuesday from the area engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation, Juan Paredes regarding area road projects.

Amy Tidwell, Corsicana Main Street, and local realtors have just wrapped up filming a five-part series called “Imagine the Possibilities.”

It was a picture-perfect Thursday evening as the Corsicana Main Street program presented its inaugural Strut Down Beaton spring fashion show. Beaton Street was closed to traffic and a fashion runway was set up in the middle of the road to display the newest spring styles available at local businesses.

Following the Governor’s order to reopen the state at full capacity, the City of Corsicana gave the Main Street program the green light to start planning events again, just in time for spring.

A familiar face has taken the reins as Corsicana’s Main Street Program Director and her downtown business experience and arts background make her a perfect fit.

The Corsicana City Council approved Mayor Don Denbow’s appointment of Beverly Kevil to serve on the library board, as well as City Manager, Connie Strandrige’s recommendation that Amy Tidwell be appointed to serve as the city’s new Corsicana Main Street Director, at the Dec. 14 meeting.
