A total of 18 area athletes found themselves on the 16-1A All-District squad released this week.

Hubbard catcher Natalie Edens was the district's most valuable player, Lady Jag Cassie Skilling was named pitcher of the year and Stacy Watson earned the district's utility player of the year award, three of 10 Hubbard athletes to make the list. Hubbard advanced to the regional semifinal before it fell to Sam Rayburn Ivanhoe. Italy also advanced to the region semifinals, where it fell to Blue Ridge.

Dawson's Hannah Greer was named co-newcomer of the year. Lady Jags coach Mike Saucke was named coach of the year.

Frost's Priscilla and Patricia Garcia were both named to the district's first team, as well as Dawson sophomore Brooke Martinez and senior Reagan Woodall.

Hubbard senior Alexis Griffin, sophomore Paytyn Gillham and senior Hannah Saucke all earned first-team honors.

On the second team, Dawson junio Lacy Cottongame, senior Ashley Brake and sophomore Haylee Kimbriel made the list.

Freshman Kalin Brown, senior Samantha Woodall and senior Heather Davidson earned second-team honors for Hubbard.
