Kerens High School has produced a long list of All-State baseball players over the past four years, including four-time all-state player Tate Engel and former Kerens players Stacey Bailey, who had a monster year at Navarro this season, and Garrett Kilcrease, who both graduated from Kerens last spring.
You can add Brady Blue’s name to that prestigious list as Blue was named to the Texas Baseball Coaches Association’s Class 2A All-State team as a first-team outfielder.
Blue topped off a solid career at Kerens with his best season and led the Bobcats in runs , scoring 31 runs in 22 games. He hit a whopping .488 for the season, going 21-for-43 to help Kerens reach the playoffs again. Blue had an impressive .699 on-base-percentage and a mind-boggling 1.234 OPS.
He was one of the top fielding outfielders in Class 2A and he was almost unstoppable on the bases, stealing 29 bases in 32 attempts over the 22-game season.
