RICE — Rice’s Lady Bulldogs and Blooming Grove’s Lady Lions played a tough and tense game Tuesday in the Rice gym, where the Lady Bulldogs edged BG 29-25 in a District 18-3A game.
Rice’s Victoria Razo led the way, scoring 12 points in a game that was decided by defense.
Rice’s Joslyn Ramos followed with nine points, Lexi Davis scored five points for the Lady Bulldogs and Alyssa Claxton scored three. Blooming Grove was led by Alex Fisher, who had a big night on the boards and scored nine points for BG.
Makenzie Black and Audrey Grant followed, scoring six points apiece and Tianna Glenn scored two points.
Mildred girls win again
Mildred’s Lady Eagles continued their march toward the playoffs with another impressive win on Tuesday night on the road, where they hammered Kemp 58-31.
Eight Mildred players scored in the romp.
Freshman Amy Adamson led the way with 13 points and Bailey Burks followed with a nine-point night while running the offense.
Kylie McCaleb and Tre Coppock scored eight points each, and Kadence Cline and Arianna Neason scored five points apiece.
Kasey Bonner and Lilly Hanna scored four points each.
Mildred is now 8-2 in the District 18-3A race and has two big games coming up. The Lady Eagles are at home Friday night against Scurry-Rosser and then travel to play Malakoff next Tuesday.
Kerens stays unbeaten with win over Frost
Kerens' LadyCats defeated frost 58-31 Tuesday to stay unbeaten in the District 19-2A race.
Frost, which is battling for a playoff spot, is 2-4 in the district race and 16-12 for the season.
The Lady Polar Bears were led by Gentry Rogers, who scored seven points, and Kyra Cerda, who scored six. Kinsley Fuller scored four and Sydney Woods scored three. Baileigh Shaw, Emily De La Hoya and and Madilyn Lee scored two apiece.
