Corsicana’s soccer teams spent a long and difficult night Tuesday, battling the weather (it was a cold and wet night at Tiger Stadium) and Midlothian in a doubleheader.
The boys team had to play the entire second half a man down, but somehow stayed with the Panthers on the turf, and came back from a 2-1 halftime deficit to knot the score at 2-2 and come away with a hard-fought tie.
Edgar Cazarez had a big night in goal and the Tiger defense shut out Midlothian the final 45 minutes. The Tigers’ offense, which was coming off a three-goal night against Cleburne in a 3-0 shutout last Friday, managed to find the net twice on Tuesday.
Pedro Torrse scored and Diego Jasso scored for the Tigers. The Lady Tigers lost 5-0.
Corsicana travels to Joshua on Friday.
