Mildred’s Alyssa Bates, seen here with her family, accepted a softball scholarship from Mary Hardin Barlor.

MILDRED — Alyssa  Bates, a senior at Mildred ISD, will be extending her softball career at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. She has been at Mildred since kindergarten.  

Alyssa has been a starter on the Lady Eagle varsity softball team since her freshman year.

Her softball awards include: 2017 Newcomer of the Year, First-team outfield as a sophomore year and Offensive player of the Year as a junior.

Alyssa also plays select softball for Glory Adkins 18-and under Gold, which is ranked No. 4 in the nation.

Alyssa signed her letter of intent with Mary Hardin Baylor in the Mildred library on Thursday amid family, friends, coaches and teammates.
