Lilly Hanna, seen here in an earlier game, led Mildred at the net with nine kills and three blocks Friday as the Lady Eagles swept Malakoff to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Mildred’s Lady Eagles, who have been making a push for the playoffs, kept winning and pulled off a big victory Friday night, sweeping Malakoff.

The Lady Eagles won the critical district match 25-18, 25-21 and 25-22 to improve to 7-6 in the district care and 22-16 for the season.

Mildred is in fifth-place in the district race, one game behind Malakoff and Palmer, which are tied for third place.

The top four teams advance to the playoffs..

Mildred will host Blooming Grove Tuesday night in the season finale.

If Mildred wins against BG, the Lady Eagles will be tied for the fourth and final playoff spot with the loser of the Malakoff-Palmer match, and those two teams would play for the right to advance to the playoffs — possibly on Saturday.

Lilly Hanna, who has had a tremendous season, led Mildred against Malakoff on Friday. She had nine kills in 18 attempts and also had three blocks.

Kenli Dalton had seven kills and 11 assists and Mason Ivie came through with six kills and two aces.

Nikki Turner led the defense with 18 digs and Landry Fleming was right behind her with 15 digs.

Abby Huitt led Mildred with 18 assists.
