After suffering a tough loss to begin the Covington tournament, the Hubbard Lady Jaguars turned things around to win the consolation bracket Saturday.

The Lady Jags’ Sara Fletcher — who finished the tournament with 21 kills, 11 assists, four blocks, two digs and a service ace — earned All-tournament honors.

Hubbard began the tournament in a battle with eventual tournament champion Bruceville Eddy, losing to the Lady Eagles 2-0 (13-25, 22-25).

Fletcher led the Lady Jags with five kills in the match while Africa Lang provided four kills and Kayla Kesen two service aces.

Adrienne Donaldson added six digs and Angel Parham a kill, service ace, block and four digs.

Hubbard had an easier time against their next opponent, defeating Covington 2-0 (25-11, 25-16).

Yolonda Armstrong took care of business from the service line with five aces. Parham had an ace of her own in the match as well as four kills and five digs.

Samantha Woodall led Hubbard in the match with seven digs.

The Lady Jags kept up the momentum in the consolation championship as they got past Blum 2-0 (25-21, 25-10).

Fletcher had another eight kills against the Lady Bobcats with Lang connecting for six kills.

Blum struggled against the serve of Parham who knocked in five aces.

Kesen provided four assists and eight digs in the match while Donaldson picked up two kills and four digs.
