Five area teams start play Monday in Texas Teen-Age Baseball (TTAB) State Tournaments across the state.

The Mildred Mudcats (13-2), the Richland-Chambers and District 12 Senior Midget champions, travel the shortest distance Monday when they meet TTAB Senior Midget State Tournament co-host Ennis State Bank 6 p.m. at Bluebonnet Park off U.S. Highway 287.

The Corsicana Braves (18-0), the Corsicana and District 3 T-Ball winners, open state tourney play 6:30 p.m. Monday in West against the China Spring Astros (District 9 champions).

Meanwhile, further south in Killeen, the District 9-winning Dawson Bulldogs (14-3) meet the Whitehouse Rangers (District 6 champions) 6 p.m. Monday in Freshman action.

The Corsicana Cardinals (18-0) and Corsicana Indians will compete in the TTAB Machine Pitch and Junior Tournaments, respectively, in Belton and Eastland, respectively.

The Corsicana Cubs and Corsicana Yankees won the Senior Midget and T-Ball state crowns, respectively, last summer.
